The University of New Mexico ("UNM") School of Law invites applications for a faculty position teaching Criminal Law, Criminal Procedure, and related topics. This faculty position is a full-time tenured or tenure-track position starting in Fall 2026. Experience practicing criminal law is desirable but not required and entry-level and experienced teachers are encouraged to apply. We seek candidates with scholarly distinction or promise as well as a commitment to excellence in teaching. Offering a J.D. degree, the UNM School of Law is nationally recognized for innovative classes that combine law practice skills training with doctrinal instruction and a 10:1 student-to-faculty ratio. Our faculty is one of the most ethnically and racially diverse faculties in the country and our student body is similarly diverse. We value candidates from varied backgrounds and perspectives, including women, individuals with disabilities, people who attended law school later in their careers, people from rural origins, first?generation college graduates, veterans, and groups historically marginalized in American life.
