Academic Program Support Specialist
The McIntire School of Commerce at the University of Virginia is seeking an Academic Program Support Specialist to provide administrative and faculty support for all academic programs, certificate degrees, and faculty programs in the Academic Program Support Office. Key Responsibilities
Assist with class preparation, support exam preparation/distribution and LMS (Canvas) support Assist faculty and academic leadership with planning and executing events, programs, and visits by professors that support the School's mission, including coordinating logistics such as travel and accommodations, classroom and meeting space, welcome materials, and special requests Ordering class materials and resources in coordination with faculty Order and maintain office supplies and distribution and coordination of mail service for School Scheduling meetings between faculty and other internal/external constituents Attend and take meeting minutes for a number of School-level committees Coordinate the editing and formatting of academic research and faculty correspondence Minimum Qualifications
Education: High School diploma Experience: Four years of relevant experience (a bachelor's degree may substitute for years of experience) Preferred Qualifications
Proficient in Microsoft Office, Outlook and Excel highly preferred Experience working in a fast paced, collaborative customer service environment Experience in university faculty support or higher education administration Physical Demands: This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings, and programs. The job does require the setting up of events. Anticipated starting hiring range: $24.00 - $25.00 per hour, commensurate with education and experience. Position Type & Work Location This is a non-exempt-level, benefited position.
