Lead Financial Reporting Analyst

The Lead Financial Reporting Analyst is responsible for delivering high quality financial reporting and analysis that supports strategic decision-making and drives business performance. Responsibilities include: Leading the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and adherence to deadlines. Preparing financial reporting packages for senior management, including variance analysis, KPIs, and trend insights. Developing and maintaining complex financial models and dashboards to support forecasting, scenario planning, and strategic initiatives. Conducting in-depth variance analysis between actual results and budget/forecast, identifying key drivers and recommending corrective actions. Partnering with business units to provide financial guidance and support for operational and strategic decisions. Performing ROI analysis and maintaining a scorecard of capital projects, tracking performance and spend against plan. Responsible for accurate processing of reinsurance cessions and related reconciliations. Preparing and presenting formalized management reporting and analysis over all reinsurance receivables including aging and collection strategy. Identifying and implementing process improvements to enhance reporting efficiency, accuracy, and automation. Mentoring and guiding junior analysts fostering a culture of continuous improvement and analytical excellence. Performing ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting as needed to support executive leadership and cross-functional teams. Qualifications include: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance with a minimum of five years of accounting or financial reporting/analysis experience and two years insurance accounting experience. CPA or MBA is a plus. Requires superior analytical skills and a thorough understanding of GAAP principles. Possess a strong sense of urgency and attention to details. Effectively sets priorities, takes accountability and achieves results. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Capable of building solid working relationships with peers and management. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Advanced skills in MS Office Suite are a requirement. SQL Management Studio and spreadsheet modeling skills are a plus. Additional company details: The company offers a competitive compensation plan and robust benefits package for full time regular employees which for this role includes: Base Salary Range: $110,000 - $125,000. The actual salary for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment.
