Senior Business Analyst - Data
This Senior Business Analyst position offers a unique opportunity for you to lead business analytics initiatives and creative problem solving that supports Puget Sound Energy and our customers. You will bring advanced expertise to design, build, and maintain complex reporting solutions while mentoring junior staff and driving strategic data initiatives. Leads initiatives to design and build reporting requirements, information dashboards, data generators, and other end-user information portals or resources. Brings expertise or identifies subject matter experts in support of multi-functional efforts to identify, interpret and produce recommendations based on company reporting and data needs. Demonstrates advanced knowledge of and support for internal and external reporting; performs complex data analysis to measure performance and identify efficiency opportunities; develops and maintains business rules for functions and processes; leads collaborative teamwork efforts to improve day-to-day operations and meet SQIs as mandated by the WUTC, other department key indicators, and corporate goals. Upholds the safety compliance standards inherent in Puget Sound Energy's operating and/or field procedures related to work responsibilities. Promotes and supports a culture of total safety. Demonstrates commitment to conduct business honestly, ethically and consistent with our core values and Code of Conduct. Leads daily operation and troubleshooting of Enterprise Data Systems Uses advanced analytical skills following clearly defined standard operating procedures Creates complex reports and provides data solutions aligned with customer expectations and Puget Sound Energy's business initiatives Integrates advanced data from multiple sources to produce requested or required data elements/reports Generates complex ad-hoc reports and regular datasets or report information for end-users using system tools and database or data warehouse queries and scripts Assists internal customers with advanced data requests and works closely with them to understand business and data needs Analyzes advanced data and provides exception reporting as needed Develops advanced programs and queries to support business functions and customer requests Provides advanced data to Puget Sound Energy departments either on a regular and/or ad hoc basis Writes SQL queries as needed to respond to customer data requests and perform analytics Maintains reporting documentation and ensures data accuracy and timeliness Programs and maintains advanced report forms and formats, information dashboards, data generators, canned reports and other end user information portals or resources Provides assistance and guidance to support staff and entry-level professionals as needed Identifies, analyzes, and interprets trends or patterns in complex data sets Develops and implements data collection systems and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and data quality Assists in maintenance, upgrades and testing of Data Systems and associated applications Ensures integration of data systems with other technologies and systems Modifies or customizes analytic project templates Produces technical documents in support of business requirements Performs other duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in business, accounting or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and/or work experience 5 years work experience as an analyst In-depth knowledge of systems and processes crucial to department operations. Strong problem solving and analytical skills in a complex environment, with exceptional PC skills using Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, SAP and CIS. Strong time management and organizational skills. Able to work independently in a fast-paced environment and prioritize assignments. Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to work well in a multi-team environment. Effective written and oral communication skills. Desired Qualifications
Skilled in using Business Intelligence tools, SAP Export, Business Objects, SAP HANA, AWS Athena, Microsoft Fabric SSIS and SSRS experience Advanced skills in writing SQL queries and table structures Advanced proficiency in MS Power BI Strong skills in statistical analysis Ability to extract, analyze and process medium to large data sets Knowledge of utility business practices Project management training Working knowledge of WAC rules and tariffs, WUTC rules and regulations Familiarity with relational database design and concepts Knowledge of database internal Additional Information
