Position Overview
A high-volume outpatient clinic in San Jose, CA is seeking two experienced Infectious Disease physicians for weekday-only locum tenens coverage. This is a full-time, adult-only clinical role with a focus on HIV care, ART management, and related comorbidities. There are no inpatient duties, no call, and no weekends. - 100% outpatient - no inpatient, no call, no weekends
- Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM or 10:00 AM-7:00 PM
- Full-time, 5x8s
- Patient volume: 18-21 adult patients/day
- EPIC EMR
- Mandatory in-person orientation (Monday-Friday, all hours billable)
- Malpractice insurance provided at no cost
- Travel and lodging prepaid
- Temporary privileges available
- Credentialing in 30 days or less
- HIV diagnosis and treatment
- Management of Antiretroviral Therapy (ART)
- Treatment and prevention of opportunistic infections (e.g., TB, candidiasis, CMV)
- Management of chronic comorbidities: hepatitis B/C, diabetes, CVD, mental health
- Prescribe and manage PrEP and PEP
- Participate in multidisciplinary care coordination
- Complete timely and accurate documentation in EPIC
- Active California medical license (required)
- Active DEA registration (required)
- BLS certification (AHA, required)
- Board Certification preferred; Board Eligible accepted
- Minimum 2 years' experience in infectious disease, HIV, or related specialty
- Strong EMR skills and ability to work independently in a high-volume clinic
