Role Description

This is afull-time, on-site leadership role based in Portland, OR. The Store Manager will oversee thedaily operations of the supermarket, ensuring efficient, profitable, and customer-focused performance. This includes leading and developing department heads, managing staff, maintaining inventory and stock levels, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, building strong vendor relationships, and executing operational and marketing initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead daily store operations with an emphasis on organization, accountability, and profitability
• Transition and mentor employees under new leadership with professionalism and care
• Develop and oversee all departments, supporting department heads in achieving goals
• Manage staff scheduling and ensure appropriate coverage across all shifts
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and food handling regulations
• Handle escalated customer service issues and maintain high service standards
• Maintain aproactive, solution-oriented mindset in a demanding environment
• Build strong vendor relationships and use networking skills to acquire new vendors and products
• Work closely with the buyer to source quality products that meet customer needs
• Drive business growth through strategic planning and operational improvements

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of leadership experience in a grocery store or supermarket environment
• Strong character, integrity, and proven ability to lead and inspire a team
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
• Experience in inventory management and stock control
• Ability to adapt and lead in a fast-paced, demanding environment
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations in the retail/grocery industry
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field preferred, but not required
• Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
