An established technology company specializing in developing embedded firmware for connected hardware products that serve multiple industries, including healthcare, environmental monitoring, and industrial applications is looking for an Embedded Firmware Engineer to join their growing team.

This role is ideal for engineers passionate about low-level firmware, working close to the hardware in an engineering-focused and collaborative environment.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Design, develop, and maintain embedded firmware in C/C++ for ARM-based microcontrollers
• Work extensively on bare-metal firmware and within RTOS environments (e.g., FreeRTOS, Zephyr)
• Develop and debug communication protocol firmware stacks (SPI, I2C, UART, BLE, etc.)
• Optimize firmware for low power consumption, real-time performance, and robustness
• Support firmware validation, debugging, and integration testing throughout the development lifecycle

Ideal Background

• B.S. or M.S. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
• 3+ years of professional experience developing embedded firmware
• Strong proficiency in C/C++ programming focused on low-level firmware development
• Experience developing firmware for RTOS-based systems, task scheduling, and interrupt handling
• Solid understanding of embedded communication protocols and corresponding firmware implementation (SPI, I2C, UART, BLE)
• Familiarity with hardware debugging tools (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, JTAG/SWD)
• Prior experience in regulated or safety-critical industries (medical, industrial, aerospace) is a plus
• Base salary up to $170,000, based on experience
