Salary:
A3 Technology, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Enterprise Architect with Systems Engineering experience to join our team in Washington, DC. This position requires a deep understanding of Enterprise Architecture (EA) frameworks and Systems Engineering (SE) principles to support the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) in evolving its enterprise architecture as we transition to planning for the next 15 years of NAS enhancements.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the development and review of the Airspace System (NAS) Segment Implementation Plan (NSIP), Operational Improvements, Business and Technology Improvements, Enterprise Architecture Roadmaps, demonstration plans, and other NAS 2040/NextGen-related activities.
- Identify gaps when migrating to future architecture frameworks and review various viewpoints such as strategic, operational, services, standards, and projects in alignment with the UAF framework.
- Review and identify gaps in enterprise planning products to ensure FAA's transition strategy aligns with the future state of NAS.
- Perform systems engineering assessments related to NAS infrastructure systems (communications, surveillance, automation, and navigation) and submit technical papers and briefs to support informed decisions on NextGen activities and initiatives.
- Collaborate with ANG-B NAS System Engineering and Integration Office to develop, maintain, and evolve the NAS EA, while working with support program managers in the PMO to advance the deployment of NextGen NAS capabilities.
- Provide systems engineering and EA expertise to both ANG-C and ANG-B for the NAS 2040 System Engineering initiative with their Landscape Leads and EA activities updates.
- Participate in the NAS EA Interrelationship Team (IRT), working with the NAS SE community of interest to collectively view, analyze, and understand the NAS from multiple perspectives and provide recommendations leveraging these perspectives.
Skills Required:
- Proficiency in EA frameworks such as DoDAF, ISEF, and UAF with the ability to interpret these frameworks to develop NAS enterprise planning and strategy documents.
- Strong technical knowledge and the ability to perform engineering assessments related to NAS infrastructure systems.
- Excellent communication skills to ensure that both ANG-B and ANG-C are aligned during the transition to NAS 2040.
- Proven ability to coordinate and communicate effectively across multiple divisions and teams.
Skills :
- Recent FAA work experience, particularly working with the NAS Enterprise Architecture or NextGen programs.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in the physical sciences (e.g., mathematics, physics, meteorology, chemistry, etc.), computer science, engineering, statistics, or operations research and 10-15 years related experience OR
- Master's degree in the physical sciences (e.g., mathematics, physics, meteorology, chemistry, etc.), computer science, engineering, statistics, or operations research and 7-12 years related experience.
Additionally, US Citizenship or documented proof of eligibility to work in the US is required. Upon receiving a conditional offer of employment, candidates will undergo a Government investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for Government clearance. Verification of past employment, education, and references is also required. Candidates must be US citizens or current green card holders with the last 3 consecutive years residing in the US.
