Manufacturing Engineering Manager
The Manufacturing Engineering Manager will lead and develop a high-performing team of manufacturing engineers within a dynamic CNC machine shop environment. This role is responsible for driving operational excellence, ensuring the efficient production of precision medical device instruments and components, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Providing strategic leadership and mentorship to a team of manufacturing engineers, cultivating a collaborative and innovative work environment.
- Optimizing and improving CNC manufacturing processes, including 3-, 4-, and 5-axis milling, wire EDM, mill-turn centers, Swiss turning, and automated/unattended machining.
- Leading quoting efforts for new jobs, ensuring accurate time, material, and cost estimates, while offering Design for Manufacturability (DFM) input to align designs with production capabilities.
- Managing engineering projects from planning through execution, ensuring adherence to quality, budget, and timeline objectives.
- Serving as a technical expert, guiding the team through complex manufacturing challenges and implementing industry best practices.
- Championing continuous improvement initiatives to reduce waste, increase productivity, and enhance product quality.
- Overseeing departmental budgeting, resource allocation, and cost-reduction strategies, including tool crib management and scrap minimization.
- Collaborating cross-functionally with production, quality assurance, and supply chain teams to align engineering efforts with organizational goals.
- Ensuring compliance with industry regulations, safety standards, and internal quality protocols.
