We are looking for a Senior Controls Application Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will create control databases, develop user interfaces, and set up control systems based on project specifications and sales proposals. You will perform field startup and system commissioning tasks while providing exceptional on-site and remote technical support to our installers and customers.
As a Senior Application Engineer, you will also have the opportunity to mentor team members and share your expertise. Here's what you can expect in this role:
- Create programming logic using flow diagrams and sequences of operation.
- Program control applications with various software tools to support operator workstations and DDC field panels.
- Install software and control programs both on-site and remotely.
- Conduct system checkout, commissioning, and testing of control applications.
- Develop system user interfaces in accordance with project specifications.
- Act as a technical liaison between owners and construction managers.
- Deliver end-user training for installed systems.
- Perform advanced system analysis and determine corrective actions for proper operation.
- Coordinate installation with contractors and perform final walkthroughs to ensure project completion.
- Complete assigned projects by planning, executing, and submitting weekly timesheets.
- Mentor and develop junior Application Engineers while providing informal guidance and support.
What You Need:
- Bachelor's Degree in HVAC, Electrical, Mechanical or Software Engineering, or a minimum of two years of relevant experience.
- At least two years of experience in Building Automation Controls or related fields.
- Expert knowledge in at least three of the following core skills: Niagara 4 Software, DGLux5 Software, API Protocols, BACnet Protocol, Modbus Protocol, Lon Protocol, IT Networking, Commissioning, Troubleshooting.
- Proficiency with HVAC systems and control processes, as well as Windows-based applications.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, and a desire to mentor others.
This position requires travel of up to 50% annually. We offer a competitive salary ranging from $100,000 to $110,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
