Johnson Service Group (JSG) is recruiting for a, Senior Human Factors/System Engineer  , for a 12-month contract assignment supporting the Mobile Launcher II project in Cape Canaveral, FL. This role offers a W2 hourly base rate with time and a half for overtime. Our client is targeting $85.00/hour for this role.

Project Overview:
Located at Kennedy Space Center, the Mobile Launcher 2 (ML2) Project is the design and construction of a launch platform for NASA to provide an advanced launch vehicle that will fill America’s need for deep space missions.

Responsibilities:

n
    n
  • Establish means of verifying requirements implementation, including acceptance criteria.
  • n
  • Prepare system and facility design criteria documents.
  • n
  • Document and process Human Factors findings
  • n
  • Perform walkdowns of hardware to verify human factors requirements are properly implemented
  • n
  • Review design products for implementation of Human Factors Principles
  • n
  • Assess hardware against established Human Factors requirements
  • n
  • Document and process Human Factors findings
  • n
  • Support system-level design verification, requirements verification, test requirements specification, and requirements flow down and traceability.
  • n
  • Perform impact analyses for proposed requirement changes.
  • n
  • Perform assessments to validate and verify implementation and traceability of requirements into design.
  • n
  • Participate in technical discussions to resolve system design issues.
  • n
  • Research and document system operations and limits from the review of design and basis documents and from discussions with system designers.
  • n
  • Demonstrate leadership qualities with emphasis on continuous improvement and team building, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • n
  • Participates in and fosters a work environment that is based upon openness, trust, communication, teamwork, empowerment, innovation, and satisfaction.

Education / Experience:

n
    n
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Systems Engineering (aligned with Industrial, Mechanical, Chemical or Nuclear Engineering).
  • n
  • 8-10 years of experience evaluating, selecting, and applying standard engineering methods, techniques, procedures, and criteria in executing a systems engineering program.
  • n
  • Possess detailed understanding of Systems Engineering principles and methods, requirements management principles, and methods.
  • n
  • Knowledgeable of industry /regulatory codes and standards pertinent to the systems engineering discipline.
  • n

    n
  • Must have or be able to obtain Engineer-In-Training (EIT) within 12 months of hire. 
  • n
  • Possess an awareness of codes and standards, environmental regulations, and their influence on design.
  • n
  • Experience facilitating multi-discipline meetings to resolve technical and related requirements compliance issues.
  • n

Qualifications:

    n
  • Construction site familiarity
  • n
  • Familiarity with implementation of requirements in design.
  • n
  • Experience in performing design and/or requirements change impact analysis.
  • n
  • Experience with MIL STD 1472G DOD Design Criteria Standard – Human Engineering
  • n
  • Experience with HF-STD-001 FAA Human Factors Design Standard
