S-E-A's St. Louis office is adding a mechanical engineer to their busy staff due, to growth! This is an ideal role for an engineer who is passionate about vehicles and wants site/field work incorporated into their day. At S-E-A, we find the "why" when things fail, working as experts, testifying through deposition and or trial. Must have prior mechanical experience specific to vehicles.
nEssential Job Functions & Responsibilities:

- Conduct field investigations and perform failure/accident analysis on incidents involving all types of vehicles and related mechanical equipment n
- Conduct vehicular accident reconstruction and mechanical failure analysis initially in a support role and later as a project lead n
- Perform calculations, engineering analysis, computer analyses and simulations and technical reporting n
- Investigate design, safety and failure of machinery and mechanical systems n
- Provide technical findings and conclusions in laymen's terms, both verbally and in writing n
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies n
- Regular and predictable physical presence in the office n
- Long term goal to become testifying expert n
- Ability to accept and integrate constructive feedback into job performance n
- Regular and predictable presence at work n
Position Requirements:

- B.S in Mechanical Engineering required, Master's Degree n
- P. E. licensed or eligible within six months for P. E. registration through testing n
- Five years minimum of post-academic engineering work experience required n
- Vehicular knowledge is required n
- NHTSA, Forensic, Racing or Vehicle Safety background is a plus n
- Strong written and oral communication skills n
- Computer skills with spreadsheets, word processing and presentation software is a must n
- Computer aided drawing skills is a plus n
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills n
- Public speaking experience is a plus n

- Ability to maneuver in and around an accident site n
- Ability to lift 50 lbs n
- Ability to carry equipment to and from job sites n
- Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing n

- Ability to effectively communicate with clients and colleagues n
- Ability to visually inspect job sites and relevant artifacts n
- Ability to wear personal protective equipment as required by the work site n
