Our client, a Tier 1 automotive supplier located in Greenville, SC , is looking for a hands-on Paint Process Engineer to lead robotic paint application and programming (Fanuc preferred) in a high-volume manufacturing environment. This role focuses on optimizing existing paint systems, troubleshooting quality issues, and supporting new model launches.
Key Responsibilities:
- Program, optimize, and maintain paint robots (Fanuc) and related equipment
- Monitor and improve paint application quality (film thickness, adhesion, surface finish)
- Troubleshoot paint-related defects and lead root cause analysis
- Support new model launches and equipment upgrades
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and coach operators/technicians
- Champion continuous improvement initiatives (5S, Kaizen, Poke-Yoke, etc.)
- Ensure adherence to safety, quality, and environmental standards
- 5+ years in paint process engineering (automotive or plastics)
- Strong experience with paint application and robot programming
- Fanuc robot programming preferred
- Engineering degree preferred, but not required
- Understanding of conveyor/robot integration and paint application systems
