Essential Job Functions
Position: Director of National Sales
Department: Sales
Ø Primary Responsibilities: (guest interaction, ordering responsibilities, clean up duties, clerical responsibilities, etc.)
Ø Meet and exceed monthly quarterly and annual room night and revenue goals
Ø Solicit new and existing accounts to meet/exceed revenue goals through telephone solicitation, outside sales calls, site inspections and written communication
Ø Ability to analyze the current market/competition
Ø Research, develop and maintain marketing opportunities within corporate accounts
Ø Grow existing relationships with assigned corporate accounts
Ø Develop and maintain knowledge of market trends, competition and customers
Ø Complete required documentation within OPERA and general account information
Ø Work with other departments within the hotel to provide quality service to customers.
Ø Coordinate and execute site visits
Ø Ability to follow up on leads within a 24 hour time period
Secondary Responsibilities
Ø Attend daily business review meetings
Ø Work with other departments within the hotel to provide quality service to customers
Ø Any other duties as assigned by management
Normal Working Hours:
(Shift, days)
Ø Must be flexible as hours may vary due to business needs
Ø Must be able to travel for site visits, sales calls, and other business requirements
Past Work Experience Requirements:
(Type of work, number of years required, equivalent experience, etc.)
Ø Minimum of 5 years of experience selling to high end luxury hotel sector
Ø Proven track record
Ø Ability to show a proven track record of closing group business sales and consistently meeting and surpassing sales goals within the luxury hotel sector
Educational Requirements:
(Degree/Certification, highest required/preferred, field of study)
Ø High School Diploma required
Ø College Degree preferred
Communication Skills Requirements
: (Verbal: phone, in-person, group; Written: memos, documents)
Ø Excellent communications skills; verbal and written
Ø Ability to act as a positive and professional ambassador for The Greenbrier Resort
Technical Requirements
Ø Excellent computer skills; Microsoft Office Suite
Ø Knowledge of Opera/Micros strongly preferred
