Monmouth University is seeking applications for an
Admission Counselor
in the Undergraduate Admission department. The candidate would be expected to:
Impart information about the University to prospective students, parents, school counselors, and independent counselors, including tuition and fees, academic programs, student services, clubs, and organizations.
Evaluate freshman applicants' academic credentials and highlight unique cases for admission decisions.
Represent the University at high school visits, college fairs, counselor meetings, and information sessions through travel within New Jersey and beyond.
Achieve enrollment goals and assist in developing and implementing marketing and enrollment strategies.
Coordinate with various departments for testing, advising, registration, housing, and financial aid.
Counsel prospective students regarding majors and careers, and act as a liaison between students and the institution.
Develop recruitment plans, including high school visitation strategies, and follow-up methods to encourage applications.
Review transfer admissions and serve as a representative to promote diversity and outreach efforts.
Participate in university committees and manage special programs like EOF and University Ambassador Program.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or expected by employment date.
Valid driver’s license with no serious violations in the past five years and limited moving violations.
Willingness to travel extensively within the region and work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
Excellent communication skills and ability to interact with diverse groups.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong organizational skills.
Proficiency in MS Word and Excel.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in college admissions or as a student assistant in admissions.
Familiarity with collegiate information systems and marketing technology.
Proficiency in MS PowerPoint.
