BioTalent have partnered with a small CDMO to search for a
Head of Cell Line Development
to lead cutting-edge innovation in mammalian and microbial expression systems. You’ll build a new team in cell line and strain development. Once established, you’ll hire your own team of scientists and associates to develop and optimize mammalian cell lines and microbial strains for the production of life-changing therapeutic proteins. Responsibilities Lead end-to-end development of mammalian cell lines and microbial strains, from vector design to cell banking. Drive innovation through new technology evaluation, conference presentations, and publications. Support regulatory submissions (IND/BLA) and author technical documentation and SOPs. Mentor and grow a high-performing team while managing departmental budgets and strategic planning. Collaborate cross-functionally with business and sales teams, representing cell line development in client meetings. Qualifications Ph.D. in Molecular Biology or related field with 5+ years of industry experience (or equivalent MS/BS experience). Proven expertise in mammalian expression systems (CHO, HEK, NS0); CHO-GS system experience highly desired. Experience in bi-specific cell line development is a strong plus.
