Director
to lead client engagement and project execution within our engineering services division. This role is ideal for a seasoned professional with a strong background in multi-discipline engineering and a passion for leadership, client service, and technical excellence. The Director will serve as the primary point of contact for clients, oversee project delivery, and manage a team of engineers and designers. This position offers a clear path to advancement, with the opportunity to grow into a VP/Department Head role that includes significant bonus and profit-sharing potential.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and mentor a team of engineers and designers across disciplines. Oversee technical quality and ensure adherence to QA/QC processes and documentation standards. Manage project staffing, timelines, and budgets to ensure successful delivery. Develop proposals, contracts, and cost estimates in alignment with company standards. Provide expert guidance on engineering design, specifications, and calculations. Maintain strong client relationships through proactive communication and responsive service. Collaborate with other department leaders to ensure operational efficiency. Participate in hiring, training, and performance management of engineering staff. Support financial oversight including project accounting, budgeting, and revenue forecasting. Contribute to marketing and business development efforts within your area of expertise.
Requirements:
Extensive knowledge of MEP engineering, including HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and electrical/IT systems. Proven experience in healthcare and life sciences facility design. Strong project management skills and familiarity with relevant codes (NFPA, FGI, AHJ). Proficiency in load analysis and energy modeling tools (e.g., eQUEST, Trane Trace, ENERGY STAR, Carrier HAP). Skilled in AutoCAD and Revit; LEED knowledge is a plus. Excellent time management, communication, and leadership abilities. Financial acumen and experience managing departmental budgets and projections. Ability to manage internal and external resources and prioritize multiple projects.
Education & Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering. Professional Engineer (PE) license required. Minimum 15 years of progressive engineering and leadership experience. Demonstrated success managing multi-disciplinary engineering teams and complex projects.
