In this role, you will collaborate with senior stakeholders from Design, Product, and Marketing teams to shape product strategies and translate them into compelling creative assets and impactful visual experiences. This position demands strong visual and interaction expertise and a deep understanding of design practices, especially in ambiguous environments where challenges need to be identified and defined.
Your Role:
As a Principal UX Designer, you will be central to shaping the future of our products. You will lead strategic design initiatives that have a direct impact on user experience, business growth, and product innovation, with the unique opportunity to influence product direction on a large scale while mentoring emerging design talent.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership:
Define and execute long-term design strategies aligned with business objectives, identify innovation opportunities, drive design thinking methodologies, and establish design standards.
Design Excellence:
Oversee the end-to-end design process for major product initiatives, create scalable design systems, develop user flows, wireframes, and high-fidelity prototypes, and ensure consistent, high-quality design implementation.
Research & Innovation:
Work alongside research teams to gather actionable insights, conduct competitive analysis, apply data analytics to inform design decisions, and explore emerging technologies.
Team Leadership:
Mentor junior designers, foster a culture of design excellence and innovation, lead design reviews, and help grow the design team through collaboration with recruitment.
A Day in the Life:
This position will report directly to the Head of Design. You will work closely with Product and Engineering leadership, lead a team of designers, and collaborate with cross-functional teams worldwide.
Basic Qualifications:
10+ years of product design experience with a portfolio demonstrating complex problem-solving.
Proven history of shipping successful digital products and leading design teams or major initiatives.
Expert knowledge of UI/UX design principles and proficiency in design and prototyping tools.
Experience with design systems, accessibility standards, and understanding technical constraints.
Leadership Skills:
Strong strategic thinking, exceptional communication skills, and a record of influencing without authority are essential. Experience in mentoring and developing others is also a plus.
Preferred Qualifications:
Advanced degree in Design, HCI, or related field.
Experience with emerging technologies (AR/VR, AI/ML) and background in consumer-facing products.
International market experience and published works in articles or conferences.
Familiarity with agile development methodologies.
This position is based in Los Angeles, and duties include working effectively with others, adhering to standards of excellence, and following all applicable laws and company policies.
