Join our dynamic Operations Compensation team as a Senior Data Scientist, where your passion for data and innovative technology can make a significant impact across Amazon's Global Operations. In this role, you will leverage data analytics to evaluate the employee life cycle and influence compensation strategies for over one million employees worldwide. As a Senior Data Scientist, you will: Engage with Amazon's executive leadership to recommend business intelligence solutions. Develop and enhance forecasting models using scalable techniques. Collaborate with customers to define essential data elements and structures for analytical capabilities. Design and implement applications allowing business leaders to create scenarios using pre-defined forecasting models. Work closely with Economists on statistical models and techniques to inform analysis. Coordinate with engineering teams to construct efficient, scalable systems for production prototypes. Advise on new methods, techniques, and strategies to advance our organizational success. Key Qualifications: We are looking for candidates who possess: 5+ years of experience with data querying languages (e.g., SQL) and scripting languages (e.g., Python). 4+ years of data science experience. A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field. Experience with statistical models, such as multinomial logistic regression. Leadership and mentoring experience within a data science team. Strong documentation skills for technical and business audiences. Expertise in forecasting analyses. Preferred Qualifications: In addition, candidates with the following qualifications will be preferred: 2+ years of experience in data visualization tools such as AWS QuickSight, Tableau, or R Shiny. Experience in managing data pipelines. Familiarity with the AWS tech stack (e.g., AWS Redshift, S3, EC2, Glue). A Master's degree. Experience with unstructured textual data. Collaboration experience with scientists, economists, software developers, or product managers. Location: This position may involve working in various locations.
