Position Overview
The Inspector 1 is responsible for inspecting finished draperies to ensure they meet quality standards. This includes checking for flaws, verifying correct measurements, inspecting hems and pattern alignment, and ensuring any necessary repairs are identified and documented.
What you'll do
Handling all drapes that are to be quality checked
Hang drapes on inspection racks and clamp with pneumatic clamps
Checking for flaws, pattern match, grease or other defect in material
Checking work tickets for special instruction
Checking bottom and side hems for fullness and to see if sewn correctly
Must be able to use judgment and make decisions when necessary
Have all repairs sent back to each area by making a repair work ticket
Checks the widths, length and returns before folding
Removes all staples from side hems and checks to see if it is sewn correctly
At times, removes pins from bottom hems
Measures each side and at seams for correct length Perform other job duties as assigned
Who you are
High school graduate
Able to use and read tape measure
General knowledge of fabric
Ability to use production equipment
Ability to use hand tools
Successfully pass blind test
Accuracy with names, numbers and spelling
Capable of standing for extended periods of time
Capable of lifting on a continuous basis
Strong attention to detail
Follow written and verbal instructions
