As a Developer Advocate on our Developer Productivity team, you will engage with teams creating these innovative tools and assist countless developers worldwide in grasping their practical applications. This significant position at AWS allows you to establish yourself as a thought leader in AI-assisted development, influencing the evolution of these tools through content creation, community interaction, and product feedback. Key Responsibilities Create technical content showcasing Amazon Q Developer and related AI development tools through in-depth tutorials, live coding demonstrations, and detailed implementation guides. Focus on comprehensive, long-form technical content that addresses modernizing legacy applications and building full-stack architectures. Deliver technical demos that involve full application development, integration patterns for existing environments, and practical workflows across various programming languages. Develop specialized content for frontend, backend, and full-stack developers tackling their distinct challenges when utilizing AI-assisted development. Identify gaps between developer needs and current tooling through hands-on coding and community engagement. Collaborate with engineering teams to influence product roadmaps based on developer feedback, contribute to open-source projects, and create productivity-enhancing guides. A Day in the Life Your day may involve reviewing community feedback on your latest tutorial, building live coding demos, engaging in technical discussions, and collaborating with product teams on new features. You might also prepare for speaking at developer conferences or writing blog posts that simplify complex integration scenarios. Basic Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience. - 4+ years of software development experience building production applications. - Hands-on experience with AI coding assistants in development workflows. - Strong programming skills in Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, Java, or similar languages. - Proven experience creating technical content and engaging with developer communities. Preferred Qualifications - Experience building developer tools, CLI applications, or IDE extensions. - Track record of impactful technical video content. - Speaking experience at major developer conferences. - Familiarity with cloud-native development patterns and modern workflows. - Contributions to open-source projects focused on developer productivity. - Experience mentoring developers with strong communication skills.
