Software Development Engineer II, Direct Fulfilment Join a talented team of software engineers and technical leaders dedicated to reaching the next billion customers. As a software engineer on the team, you will be responsible for the technical design and implementation of solutions that enable our Direct Fulfillment (DF) model. DF allows vendors to ship products directly to customers on behalf of Amazon. This requires building systems that can reliably work end-to-end for emerging and global marketplaces and enable seamless customer experiences. Key job responsibilities Designing and developing highly reliable, scalable, and distributed systems. Delivering quality features on-time and executing against project plans and delivery commitments. Managing day-to-day development activities, participating in design, code reviews, implementation, and operational excellence. Engaging with customers and dependencies to ensure quality delivery. Mentoring other engineers. Maintaining current technical knowledge and adopting new technologies. Launching products in India and worldwide marketplaces. About the team Direct Fulfillment (DF), known as "dropship," is a fulfillment model that allows vendors to ship orders directly to customers. The offer is branded as 'Ships and Sold by Amazon,' providing a customer experience identical to items sold from Amazon Fulfillment centers. DF was launched in India in October 2018. Our vision: Provide customers with the widest possible retail selection while maintaining a superior experience for vendors and a cost-effective structure for Amazon. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS 3+ years of professional software development experience. 2+ years of experience in system design or architecture, focusing on reliability and scalability. Experience programming with at least one software language. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS 3+ years of full software development lifecycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control, build processes, testing, and operations. Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent. Knowledge of professional software engineering practices and best practices for the full software development lifecycle.
