Join us as a Network Development Engineer for Project Kuiper, Amazon's low Earth orbit satellite broadband network. Our mission is to provide fast, reliable internet to communities around the world, and we aim to support a diverse range of customers, including households, schools, hospitals, businesses, and government agencies in areas lacking connectivity.
As a key member of our team, you will take charge of implementing, maintaining, and optimizing enterprise networks across our global manufacturing facilities, research labs, launch sites, and mission operations centers. Your role is crucial in ensuring high availability, performance, and security of our network infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
Deploy and maintain complex network solutions in manufacturing and lab environments.
Ensure strong network operations supporting launch and mission activities.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex routing, interconnectivity, and performance issues.
Implement and manage change control processes for network modifications.
Develop and maintain operational procedures and technical documentation.
Lead capacity planning and performance optimization initiatives.
Enhance and manage monitoring and alerting systems for proactive issue detection.
Mentor junior engineers on operational best practices and troubleshooting techniques.
Drive automation initiatives to improve efficiency and streamline repetitive tasks.
Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation for critical infrastructure support.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure network reliability for mission-critical operations.
Your Daily Life:
Your day starts with reviewing network monitoring alerts and analyzing traffic patterns. You’ll plan network expansions for new lab spaces and coordinate the deployment of network solutions for upcoming launch sites. Additionally, you will work with vendors on WAN circuit installations and troubleshoot routing issues, all while mentoring your team members.
This role requires balancing immediate operational needs with long-term strategic planning to ensure network reliability for our mission-critical operations. This is an on-site position, requiring you to work from the office five days a week, with up to 25% travel for business purposes.
Basic Qualifications:
4+ years of experience with major internet routing protocols.
4+ years working in a Linux/Unix environment.
1+ years of experience in automation scripting using Python, Bash, Shell, or Perl.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with AWS and AWS networking products such as Direct Connect and Transit Gateway.

The compensation for this role ranges from $127,400 to $212,800 per year, based on factors such as market location and your experience. In addition to competitive pay, we offer a comprehensive benefits package to support your needs.
