Information Systems Security Engineer

Overview GBSI is seeking an Information Technology (IT) professional for the role of Information Systems Security Engineer in Landover, MD. The role involves providing collaboration support on design efforts, security engineering, and leading the engineering of RMF BoE artifacts for a large-scale enterprise IT program. Responsibilities Provides guidance on system functions, information types, operating environments, and security requirements. Reviews the adequacy of security controls and assists in tailoring them as appropriate. Assists in determining assurance measures to meet requirements. Collaborates with systems, network, and other engineers to design and implement security controls, including Zero Trust Architecture, and engineering of RMF BoE documentation. Conducts Assessment and Accreditation (A&A) activities, following security processes and coordinating with the Designated Authorizing Official (DAO) and security teams. Qualifications LEVEL II : Bachelor's degree with 2-5 years' experience, or Master's degree with 0-2 years' experience, or 8-10 years' experience in lieu of degree. LEVEL III : Bachelor's degree with 5-8 years' experience, or Master's with 3-5 years' experience, or PhD with 0-2 years' experience. Must have a DoD-issued Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility at start. Current DoD 8570.1-M IAT Level III certification (e.g., CISSP, GCIH, GCIA) at start. Experience with security tools such as Splunk, HBSS, CyberArk, ACAS/Nessus, HashiCorp, and Fortify. ITILv4 Foundation certification is strongly desired.
