The Altadena Library District has an immediate opportunity to join our team as a Part-Time Information Technology Specialist, a critical role as we begin an exciting new chapter as a central pillar of our community and catalyst for a thriving future. Post Eaton-Fire, the library is playing a vital role in supporting the community's recovery and rebuilding efforts. We seek someone who is flexible, resilient, creative, and capable of thinking outside the box to meet the community where they are today and where they are heading in the future. As we continue to assess and respond to the shifting landscape of Altadena's recovery, this role will require a flexible and responsive approach to service delivery. The District As the oldest special library district in the state of California, we're used to being on the frontier. In fact, since the 1920s, the Altadena Library District has been a leader in community-driven services. Today, we are stepping into a new era, serving both as a strong anchor for our community and the facilitator of their aspirations. We are proud to serve the residents of the unincorporated community of Altadena in Los Angeles County. The Library District is supported by property taxes and governed by five locally elected Board of Library Trustees. While the local schools are part of the Pasadena Unified School District, the library district serves five public elementary schools, a middle school, and a high school, as well as many private schools within the Altadena community. The Position Under general direction from the IT & Technical Services Manager, the Part-Time Information Technology Specialist: Works an average of 19 hours per week. Works weekend hours. Assists with daily IT operations and projects, aligned with the District's strategic and operational goals. Resolves computer system problems and ensures timely repairs and maintenance. Provides high-quality technical support and maintenance for hardware, software, and network systems to both staff and library patrons. Supports the development and maintenance of the District's websites and applications. Assists in evaluating the Library's operating hardware and software, implementing new services, and preparing reports and correspondence related to assigned activities.
