Description This position is a vital part of the AWS Specialist and Partner Organization (ASP). Specialists are responsible for the entire go-to-market strategy in their technology domains, offering both business and technical expertise to ensure customer success. If you are a seasoned expert in both relational and non-relational database technologies with hands-on experience in architecting and building solutions, we want you! Do you possess deep expertise in designing and implementing mission-critical systems for high-performance transaction processing, real-time analytics, data warehousing, or other data-driven applications at internet scale? This is your opportunity to make a significant impact! In this role as a Principal Solutions Architect, you will: Enhance technical readiness and capabilities of database services through the promotion of best practices across multiple regions. Collaborate with customers, partners, and AWS engineering teams to address enterprise problems such as Database Migrations and design patterns for Cloud Native, Serverless, Mobile Backends, and Microservices applications. Lead discussions on designing highly available, distributed, and resilient applications using NoSQL technologies and frameworks. Provide guidance on optimizing customer workloads in the AWS environment. Focus specifically on AWS database technologies, including but not limited to: PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, SQL Server, DynamoDB, DocumentDB, Elasticache, Cassandra, Timestream, and Neptune. The role has a global scope with travel up to 25%. Key Responsibilities: Understand customer requirements, translate these into AWS configurations that meet performance and scalability needs. Design solutions and collaborate across teams to educate partners and customers on using Amazon Databases effectively. Develop strategies and engage with various teams to define a Database & Analytics Engagement strategy for key AWS accounts. Share best practices and create customer-facing reference architectures. Support solution providers in defining and implementing technical solutions aligned with their business strategies. Partner with business development and account management teams to ensure customer success in building and migrating applications on the AWS platform. As part of the AWS Worldwide Specialists Organization (WWSO), Data & AI Team, your expertise will contribute to improving engineering design and AWS service adoption for customers around the globe. You will advise on leveraging database and analytics services to solve complex problems and share foundational reference architectures. Basic Qualifications: 10+ years of specific technology domain experience (software development, cloud computing, etc.). Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or equivalent. Experience developing technology solutions and guiding IT transformations toward cloud computing. Excellent communication skills with ability to engage technical and non-technical audiences. Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of distributed systems design and implementation. Experience with large scale automation and workflow management. Skills in database design and implementation.
