As an Embedded Software Development Engineer, you will play a crucial role in our mission to provide fast and reliable internet connectivity to communities and customers across the globe. You will be responsible for designing and deploying robust embedded software for a variety of consumer electronic devices that are part of our innovative satellite broadband network. Your Key Responsibilities Include: Developing embedded software for terrestrial devices within the Project Kuiper system. Engaging in all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including requirements gathering, design, coding, testing, and ensuring code coverage. Writing embedded software in C, C++, Rust, assembly, and other programming languages. Applying real-time embedded software methodologies and best practices. Leveraging your expertise in Linux and Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS). Reviewing schematics and employing troubleshooting techniques for embedded systems (bare-metal). A Typical Day Involves: Designing and implementing embedded software for Project Kuiper products. Collaborating with internal and external teams to drive product development. Flexibly addressing changing priorities and challenges in a dynamic work environment. Basic Qualifications: At least 3 years of relevant professional software development experience. A minimum of 2 years of experience in system design or architecture, including design patterns and scalability. Proficiency in at least one programming language. Preferred Qualifications: 3+ years of experience throughout the full software development lifecycle, including familiarity with coding standards, code reviews, and source control management. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience. Compensation:
The base pay for this position ranges from $129,300/year to $223,600/year based on geographical market considerations. Additional compensation may include equity, sign-on payments, and a comprehensive benefits package.
