Whether through community outreach, world-class events, or partnership integrations, the Epic Games Publishing and Marketing teams seek to surprise players with new experiences every time they drop in to play.What You'll DoEpic is looking to add a Music Licensing Associate to its growing Partnerships organization who will help with our broad, sweeping music clearances and licensing efforts for Epic’s first-party games properties, such as Fortnite Festival and various marketing campaigns. We are looking for someone who is not intimidated by a high volume of music clearances in a fast-paced environment and is always willing to go above and beyond to get the job done– someone who is curious, innovative, and an overall team player who keeps scalability and operational excellence front of mind. This person will already have established relationships within the music industry from a creative and clearance perspective that they can comfortably lean into when an internal brief needs music options or a clearance hits a snag. This is a great opportunity to join a rapidly scaling company within the entertainment industry and be a part of expanding Epic’s global role in culture.In this role, you willFacilitate a high volume of music clearances while navigating complex rights structures and commercial deal terms that support our overall business priorities and goalsHelp to maintain and continue to improve upon the critical systems and databases that support our music business to ensure all music uses across Epic are properly tracked and accounted forSupport the music partnerships team with day-to-day operations such as processing invoices, setting up new vendors in our payment system, and organizing reports such as market and player insights into digestible and impactful formats for both the immediate and cross-functional teamsRespond to creative briefs from internal teams as needed, with the ability to provide a variety of music options at varying price points that will be relevant for both our players as well as for the campaign/product as a wholeWork closely with our internal audio team on Epic original music efforts to ensure all assets are properly tracked and deliveredCollaborate and communicate as a key point of contact internally on behalf of the music partnerships team while managing multiple projects at any given timeWhat we're looking forMinimum 3-5 years of music clearance and licensing experienceCandidates must have superb organizational and communications skills, along with the ability to be proactive, work independently, multitask, and maintain a strong attention to detail, which will include handling several projects with varying components and competing deadlines at once in a measured and nimble manner, with the ability to address shifting priorities and timelines with discretion and confidentialityUse of good judgment, critical thinking, collaboration, and problem-solving skills is essential, especially in stressful situations, with the ability to be solution-oriented and remain calm under pressureAbility to pivot quickly at the last minute, maintaining a general sense of flexibility and adaptability along the wayFamiliarity with current music trends and general music supervision experienceProject management operator who prides themselves on working well internally and externally with different types of personalitiesSome experience with project management tools required, including (and especially) Airtable, Jira, and Trello. At least some combination of expertise across Tableau, Miro, Google Suite, Microsoft Office Suite, and Slack preferredUnderstanding and/or interest in gamingThis role is open to multiple locations across the US (including NYC).Pay Transparency InformationThe expected annual base pay range(s) for this position are detailed below. Each base pay range is relevant only for individuals who are residents of or will be expected to work within the specified locale. Compensation varies based on a variety of factors, which include (but aren’t limited to) things such as skills and competencies, qualifications, knowledge, and experience.
