Job Description - Digital Media Director (25141799) Position Title: Digital Media Director - ( 25141799 ) About the Department The Department of Commerce aims to make sure Montana is the best place to work, live and play. We work alongside private industry and local organizations to create jobs, grow businesses, develop affordable housing and improve community infrastructure. The Digital Media Director (DMD) reports to the Chief Marketing Officer (CMO), is a critical brand advocate and is responsible for the ideation, development and maintenance of digital assets, print assets and special projects as required by the Department. The Digital Media Director delivers and supports necessary development and training in the Department CMS (Cascade), GovDelivery and other content delivery systems leveraged to execute modern communications to the Department’s constituents. The Digital Media Director will work collaboratively with the Communication Director, Marketing Director and CMO to ensure consistency and strategic alignment across all channels and divisions and will support projects across all divisions at the Department. The Digital Media Director supervises one Digital Asset Manager and is responsible for the day-to-day performance and outcomes of that position. This position is open until filled with a first application review date of August 22, 2025. What are we looking for? Education and Experience: · A bachelor’s degree in computer science, marketing, graphic design, or similar discipline. · Applicable experience in managing a brand’s content across multiple channels and mediums. · Alternate combinations of education and experience may be considered. General Requirements: · Experience interpreting and applying brand standards · Multi-channel content strategy · Design for print and digital mediums for marketing and technical objectives · Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite · Content Management System knowledge and mastery (Cascade experience preferred) · Digital Asset Management software (ZDAM/Zenplex preferred) · Knowledge of website design for marketing purposes · Knowledge of search engine optimization and analytics · Knowledge of ADA 508 Compliance regulations and remediation methods for digital and print design · Ability to troubleshoot and optimize web pages for security and responsiveness · Supervise staff · Ability to provide training · Trade show strategy experience · Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Preferred qualities and experience: · Clearly communicate ideas and feedback · Adaptability to change, ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously · Provide direction to marketing agencies of record · Plan and track progress. This position allows for a hybrid work schedule from a remote location within the State of Montana. Weekly travel to Helena offices will be required. Specific conditions will be outlined as part of the job offer and must adhere to state policy. New Employees may be required to complete training in person before hybrid work schedules begin.
