Your New Role… CNN seeks a talented Supervising Producer to join the weekend team for State of the Union with Jake Tapper and Inside Politics with Manu Raju, located in Washington DC. Your Role Accountabilities… Editing & Production Lead the editorial direction for two political shows. Collaborate with the Executive Producer and team on planning visual and editorial presentation. Synthesize weekly political stories, write concise copy, and suggest topical political elements. Monitor multiple sources of information. Coordinate with hosts on segment direction and interview questions. Booking, Development & Pitching Identify and pursue newsworthy political guests and stories. Management Oversee staff to ensure editorial and production quality. Support staff development in a collaborative environment. Work effectively with producers and crew. Breaking News Establish facts rapidly on developing stories. Coordinate with network teams, secure sources, and respond quickly to overnight stories. Qualifications & Experience… Over 10 years in television news, with at least 5 years as a show producer at a cable or broadcast network. Strong editorial judgment, especially in politics and public affairs. Excellent writing, control room experience, and understanding of news production. Creative, able to generate stories under deadline pressure. Knowledge of graphics, editing, digital gathering, and live remote broadcasting. Bachelor’s degree in journalism or related field preferred, or equivalent experience. Flexible schedule and willingness to travel as needed.
