Job Description
Summary:
The Department of History is seeking a creative and detail-oriented Communications Assistant to support our outreach and engagement efforts.
Responsibilities
Create weekly content for departmental Instagram page. Designs flyers, graphics, and promotional materials for events in collaboration with History Events Assistant. Assist with production of annual newsletter. Assists History faculty with small tasks as requested. Monitor History email inbox. Provides front-desk coverage for History Department Office. Assist with departmental events as needed.
Position Type/Expected Hours Of Work
Part-Time. 5-10 hours per week.
Salary Range
$17.95 per hour.
Required Education And Experience
Must be enrolled at American University as an undergraduate student. Familiarity with Canva or similar tools. Strong writing skills. Familiarity with Microsoft Office programs (Word, Outlook, Excel). Active Federal Work Study award.
Preferred Education And Experience
Customer Service experience a plus. Interest in history a plus.
