Phlebotomist Patient Services Representative II
(PSR II) serves as the welcoming face of the company for patients, providing professional, high-quality specimen collection services in a clinical setting. This role requires exceptional phlebotomy skills, strong patient communication, and meticulous attention to detail in specimen handling, labeling, and documentation. The PSR II will work independently in a fast-paced environment while ensuring safety, accuracy, and patient trust.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform daily specimen collection and processing activities accurately and on time under the direction of the area supervisor. Maintain a safe and professional work environment in compliance with established policies and procedures. Execute both forensic and clinical specimen collection duties with precision and adherence to protocols. Verify patient demographic information and ensure correct specimen labeling in the patient's presence. Maintain accurate records, logs, and documentation. Build and maintain positive patient, client, and coworker relationships. Provide superior customer focus, clear communication, and professional representation of the organization. Travel to and work at multiple locations as needed, sometimes on short notice. Required Experience:
3+ years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections. Minimum 2 years' experience in a Patient Service Center environment preferred. Customer service experience in retail or healthcare settings preferred. Keyboard/data entry experience required. Nice-to-Have Experience:
Medical assistant or paramedic training. Experience working in high-volume clinical laboratory environments. Required Skills:
Excellent phlebotomy skills (pediatric, geriatric, capillary). Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Ability to provide quality, error-free work in a fast-paced setting. Preferred Skills:
Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to handle multiple priorities and adapt to change quickly. Additional Skills:
Commitment to company dress code, health & safety, and guiding principles. Reliable transportation and valid driver's license (if applicable). Ability to make sound decisions based on established procedures.
