Job Title: IT Project Manager
Location: Dallas, TX (Remote/Travel within Dallas/Fort Worth/Austin area)
Duration: 1+ year contract (potential extension/contract-to-hire)
Pay Rate: $45-50/hr. (or higher/negotiable based on experience)
Summary: The IT Project Manager plays a critical role in defining and coordinating the technology scope for hospital construction and renovation projects. This individual leads early-phase planning efforts, aligning stakeholders, developing project scope documents, and identifying technology integration requirements. This role requires strong communication, technical fluency, and the ability to navigate across construction, clinical, and IT domains.
Responsibilities: •Lead early-stage project scoping, including stakeholder interviews, site assessments, and documentation requirements. •Develop detailed technology scope documents encompassing IT infrastructure, medical equipment, telecom, and integration needs. •Align scope with construction documents and clinical workflows; identify required systems based on facility type and operational needs. •Coordinate with architects, engineers, and IT leads during programming, schematic design, and design development phases. •Facilitate cross-functional planning meetings and ensure clarity of roles, responsibilities, and technology needs. •Transition scoped projects to delivery PMs with clear documentation, timelines, and risk considerations.
Qualifications: •Broad understanding of network infrastructure, telecom, wireless systems, and field services. •Ability to scope infrastructure requirements for systems such as nurse call, AV, access control, and wireless. •Comfortable using ServiceNow to track or validate requests (expert-level not required). •Proficient in project planning, Office365, Teams, and other collaboration platforms. •Knowledge of construction timelines and key handoff points for technology coordination. •Awareness of construction project phases (e.g., programming, SD, DD, CDs). •Ability to interpret architectural documentation and understand space planning implications for IT/medical technology. •Detail-oriented with the ability to gather, organize, and present complex technical requirements. •Personable and collaborative, working well across clinical, construction, and IT domains. •Strong communicator, capable of translating technical requirements into clear scope documents.
