Job Description: North Salem Elementary is seeking a dependable and hardworking
Custodian
to join our team. The ideal candidate takes pride in keeping school facilities clean, safe, and welcoming for students, staff, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities: Perform general cleaning and sanitizing of classrooms, restrooms, offices, hallways, and common areas Sweep, mop, vacuum, and scrub floors as needed Empty trash and recycling containers Refill supplies such as soap, paper towels, and toilet paper Assist with setup and breakdown for school events or activities Report any maintenance issues or safety concerns to supervisor Ensure building security after hours, including locking doors and setting alarms Follow safety protocols and use cleaning chemicals properly Other custodial duties as assigned by the Head Custodian or Principal Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred Previous custodial or maintenance experience preferred but not required Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks throughout the shift Must pass a background check and required screenings Strong work ethic, reliability, and a positive attitude
