Job Description:
North Salem Elementary is seeking a dependable and hardworking Custodian to join our team. The ideal candidate takes pride in keeping school facilities clean, safe, and welcoming for students, staff, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities:

• Perform general cleaning and sanitizing of classrooms, restrooms, offices, hallways, and common areas
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, and scrub floors as needed
• Empty trash and recycling containers
• Refill supplies such as soap, paper towels, and toilet paper
• Assist with setup and breakdown for school events or activities
• Report any maintenance issues or safety concerns to supervisor
• Ensure building security after hours, including locking doors and setting alarms
• Follow safety protocols and use cleaning chemicals properly
• Other custodial duties as assigned by the Head Custodian or Principal

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Previous custodial or maintenance experience preferred but not required
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks throughout the shift
• Must pass a background check and required screenings
• Strong work ethic, reliability, and a positive attitude
