Description

The Local Outreach to Suicide Survivors (LOSS) Team Coordinator is a community-based position providing outreach and resource navigation/connection to those in Collin County who have lost a loved one to suicide. The LOSS Team Coordinator is responsible for creating and maintaining the rotational schedule and ensuring appropriate response and follow-up is conducted for on-scene and delayed calls. The coordinator will actively seek community referrals and resources while fostering relationships with the Collin County Medical Examiner, local law enforcement agencies, and volunteers. The coordinator will be responsible for collecting and maintaining ongoing data for the LOSS Team. The LOSS Team coordinator will work closely with community partners to engage and recruit volunteers to promote the LOSS Team. Additionally, the coordinator will identify and maintain community resources and ensure the team has resources needed to assist individuals who have lost a loved one to suicide.

The LOSS Team Coordinator will demonstrate effective problem-solving skills, and encourage teamwork, cooperation, and collaboration within the team. The LOSS Team Coordinator will use LifePath Systems Equipment and Materials appropriately. The coordinator will also understand and implement trauma-informed care practices as well as providing training and support to LOSS team volunteers and coordinating public awareness events and/or speaking engagements.

Qualifications

Education, Training and Experience (including licensure and certification) • Bachelor's Degree in psychology, sociology, or related field from an accredited college or university as required to qualify as a Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP). • At least one-year related experience and/or training in the field of mental health services preferred. • Experience providing telehealth services/coaching services desired. • Experience in crisis response preferred. • Experience in community outreach and public speaking preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities • Requires flexibility and willingness to handle a variety of tasks. • Ability to multi-task and change priorities based on team needs. • Ability to think clearly and logically and ask clarifying questions when instructions are not clear. • Excellent communication skills, including verbal and written. • Excel at time management and organizing tasks and responsibilities. • Respond to individuals, team, and partners with patience, empathy, and understanding. • Knowledge of basic computer functions with ability to learn new software as needed. • Proficiency in data collection, reporting, graphs, and documentation. • Knowledge of community resources specific to suicide grief, prevention, and postvention.
