Quality Technician

Support the Plant Quality Engineer in all product and process quality-related activities at the plant. Function as a team member with Engineering, Production and Material departments to ensure quality parts are shipped to our customer in a timely manner. Support the ongoing requirements of a QS9000 / TS16949 compliant quality management system. Interpretation of drawings and GD&T for components and assemblies. Support the physical set up of quality lab equipment, including CMM and H-Point, color & appearance evaluation equipment, and conventional measuring instruments used in production. Recommend corrections of GD&T application of prints and disposition of dimensional layouts. Investigate sources of dimensional & testing discrepancies found during regular testing in production. Support Plant Quality Engineer in review / approval of all PPAP submissions (supplier and customer). Notify Plant Quality Engineer and/or Plant Quality Manager when layout reports and / or testing results do not meet specifications. Support the implementation of the Faurecia Excellence System (FES) requirements. Maintain good housekeeping standards and support 5S improvement activities. Follow all safety procedures in the workplace. All other duties as assigned by the Plant Quality Engineer and / or Plant Quality Manager. Perform required testing & inspection activities according to production control plan(s). Support calibration on all equipment and inspection fixtures in production. Support development and maintenance of quality documentation in production. Collect and analyze quality data in production (i.e. scrap, rework, 1st time yield). Support Plant Quality Engineer on problem solving activities. 3 to 5 years experience in an automotive manufacturing environment; Post secondary education in Engineering or related field preferred, or commensurate level of training and experience; Technical background and basic knowledge of quality tools (i.e. PFMEA, Control Plan, MSA, SPC, PPAP); Basic computer skills required.
