Sr Project Manager
At Pierce Manufacturing, we build trucks that protect people and communities around the world. To our team, there is no room for anything less than providing the absolute best. Since 1913, building truck bodies on Model T Ford chassis in an old converted church has evolved to creating highly customized, carefully designed and engineered pumpers, aerials, tankers and rescue units that have no equal. Today, you'll find more than 30,000 Pierce apparatuses on the road that are making a difference in people's lives, every day. To us, every step in the process of building our trucks is personal. From innovation and expertise, to the customization and service. Our trucks are designed to perform under the toughest conditions. We are seeking a dynamic and results-oriented Sr Project Manager to take ownership of key initiatives within our manufacturing operations. This role is instrumental in driving projects that enhance production efficiency, product quality, and customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate is a skilled communicator and problem solver with a proven ability to lead cross-functional teams, manage complex timelines, and deliver exceptional outcomes in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment. Your Impact:
Project Leadership: Manage multiple projects from initiation to completion, ensuring alignment with scope, schedule, budget, and quality goals. Strategic Planning: Develop detailed project plans, including objectives, deliverables, schedules, resource allocation, and risk assessments. Team Collaboration: Lead cross-functional teams across engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and quality assurance to achieve project milestones. Stakeholder Communication: Facilitate regular updates to stakeholders, providing clear and concise reports on project progress, risks, and issues. Process Optimization: Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance product quality. Problem Solving: Address project challenges, proactively resolving conflicts and adapting plans to overcome obstacles. Budget Management: Monitor project budgets, ensuring cost-effectiveness and adherence to financial constraints. Compliance and Safety: Ensure all projects comply with relevant safety regulations, quality standards, and company policies. Documentation: Maintain accurate and thorough project documentation, including status reports, schedules, and meeting minutes. Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Project Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field and 6+ years of experience in a project management role. Standout Qualifications:
Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with competing priorities. Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, ERP systems, and project management software (e.g., Microsoft Project, ERP, Smartsheet, Jira). Project management certification. Understanding of manufacturing processes and quality standards. Experience in high-mix, low-volume manufacturing environments. Experience with standardized PM templates, enterprise tools, and performance tracking methods (e.g., dashboards, KPIs, SPI/CPI), with the ability to introduce structure where process maturity is still developing. Familiarity with change management principles and their application to drive adoption and long-term success. Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or related process improvement methodologies. Strong financial acumen and experience managing project budgets, including use of performance metrics to monitor cost and schedule adherence. Passion for building high-quality, mission-critical products. Working Conditions:
Split time between office settings and the manufacturing floor, with exposure to machinery, noise, and dynamic production environments. Willingness to travel (roughly 10%) as needed for supplier coordination, site visits, or customer engagements. Flexibility to adjust schedules and hours to meet project demands. Pay Range: $91,800.00 - $153,200.00 The above pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target pay for the position across all U.S. locations. Within this range, individual pay is determined by various factors, including the scope and responsibilities of the role, the candidate's experience, education and skills, as well as the equity of pay among team members in similar positions. Beyond offering a competitive total rewards package, we prioritize a people-first culture and offer various opportunities to support team member growth and success.
