We are seeking an Assistant Traffic Specialists (ATS) at the Traffic Management Center in Selma, NC. AtkinsRalis is a world-class engineering services and nuclear organization. For over 50 years, we've partnered with public and private clients across the U.S. to deliver infrastructure planning, engineering, construction, environmental consulting, urban planning, architecture, and program management. How will you contribute to the team? This role will support the management of traffic congestion on roadways throughout the state and develop response plans for planned and unplanned traffic incidents including road work, vehicle crashes, and major adverse weather. ATS will use an array of technologies to support the daily operations of the TMC. The Traffic Management Center (TMC) is a communications hub and emergency response facility. Successful ATS are complex problem-solvers and dedicated public servants. ATS work under supervision but must be capable of directing their own work in accordance with their training. ATS also work in a team environment and must be able to communicate clearly and take direction in real-time. A typical day is comprised of regularly scheduled tasks and unscheduled ad-hoc task requests. ATS must possess good time management skills and maintain continuous, situational awareness while on duty. ATS regularly engage with numerous internal/external partners and must be able to communicate confidently and professionally. Candidates interested must be able to work (12:00 PM - 8:30 PM) with the possibility of coming in earlier for meetings or supporting second shift operations as needed. Due to the nature of our industry, candidates must be willing to work weekends and holidays as needed. What will you contribute? High school diploma (or equivalent); two years' administrative or technical work experience required. Experience in dispatch center or 911 operations a plus. Must be proficient with computer skills. One year experience as supervisor fill-in is preferred. Excellent oral communication and interpersonal skills required. Must have good command of the English language. Ability to complete written records in clear well written English. Ability to perform in a professional courteous manner and remain friendly while under pressure.
