What You’ll Do
We’re seeking a
Manager of Event Planning
to lead our high-performing Events team. In this hands-on leadership role, you’ll manage a team of Event Planners while also planning and executing a portfolio of upscale weddings, corporate functions, fundraisers, and special museum events. You’ll shape the vision for department operations, coach staff, and serve as a lead liaison to clients and vendors, ensuring flawless execution and an exceptional guest experience.
Key Responsibilities
Lead, train, and mentor a team of event planners and the Event Captain. Manage logistics, budgets, and client expectations for internal and external events. Oversee department strategy, workflow optimization, and vendor relations. Collaborate across museum departments to align event planning with organizational goals. Promote museum event spaces to external partners and prospective clients. Monitor trends, evaluate pricing structures, and recommend improvements.
What You Bring
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. 3–5 years of event planning experience, including high-end social or corporate events. 2+ years of experience managing or coaching a team. Exceptional communication, organization, and client relationship skills. Strong business acumen and ability to manage competing priorities. Familiarity with event planning software and CRM systems a plus.
