Instructor Faculty Position Available
The Medical Laboratory Sciences (MLS) Program in the Department of Health Sciences at UT Health San Antonio invites qualified candidates to apply for a full-time (12 month), non-tenure track faculty position at the Instructor level. This position focuses on Medical Laboratory Sciences education and laboratory administration. Primary responsibilities include: Prepare laboratory sessions including samples and laboratory instrumentation in all Medical Laboratory Sciences disciplines. Manage the Program's student laboratories to include inventory and purchase of laboratory equipment, reagents, and supplies; maintenance and preparation of laboratory equipment for student laboratory sessions; serve as Program's safety officer and maintain student laboratory safety records. Teach and evaluate students in classroom and laboratory environments. Develop, prepare and deliver course content for upper-division Bachelor's and Master's Degree courses in the undergraduate and graduate lecture and laboratory courses of Medical Laboratory Sciences, dependent on discipline expertise and education. Incorporate new knowledge and techniques into online, clinical, classroom, and laboratory instruction. Conduct research or administrative activities appropriate to academic rank. Participate in curriculum and program development, implementation, evaluation, and revision. Qualified candidates must have: Master of Science degree Professional U.S. certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist, MLS(ASCP) Minimum of two years of experience as a Medical Laboratory Scientist Salary is commensurate with education and experience. The Medical Laboratory Sciences Program is a NAACLS-accredited program offering both BS and MS degrees in MLS. The Department of Health Sciences is one of seven departments within the School of Health Professions.
