Phlebotomist
Collect and process blood specimens for testing and perform multiple clerical and processing functions. May draw and collect blood samples according to policy. Receive, centrifuge, accession, process and transport specimens. Verify all related records. Work pending lists, order add-on tests, and resolve duplicate orders. Set up instruments. Maintain, clean, and sterilize equipment and work area following safety, cleanliness, and infection control procedures. Perform clerical duties which may include answering phones, reviewing EKGs, collecting patient demographic data for patient registration, ordering tests, ABNs, data entry and filing. Licensure / Certification / Registration: Preferred Credential(s): BLS Provider. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted. Certification specializing in Phlebotomy credentialed from the American Society for Clinical Pathology Board of Certification (ASCP-BOC). Phlebotomy Tech. Medical Laboratory Assistant credentialed from the American Society for Clinical Pathology Board of Certification (ASCP-BOC). Medical Laboratory Assistant credentialed from the American Medical Technologists (AMT). Tech credentialed from the American Society of Phlebotomy Technicians. All issuing authorities accepted. Education: High School diploma equivalency or 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required. Note: Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.
