The Med/Surg Nurse will be responsible for a range of duties, including but not limited to:- Consulting and coordinating with healthcare team members to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans.- Preparing and administering medications (orally, subcutaneously, and through IV) and accurately documenting their administration.- Reporting any adverse reactions to medications or treatments in compliance with nursing policies.- Educating patients on surgical procedures and managing post-treatment home care needs.- Recording patients' medical information and vital signs, monitoring, and adjusting specialized medical equipment as required.- Initiating corrective actions in response to adverse patient symptoms.- Providing bedside care for a diverse range of medical patients, including pre- and post-surgery cases.- Developing and initiating patient education plans as prescribed by physicians.- Changing dressings, inserting catheters, and starting IVs as necessary.- Preparing equipment and assisting physicians during examinations and treatments.- Responding to life-saving situations according to established nursing standards and protocols.- Participating in discharge planning.- Managing time effectively to ensure patient needs are met.- Accurately recording all care information in a timely manner using the appropriate formats and forms.- Performing additional duties as assigned based on the assigned setting. Qualifications: - A valid and active ID RN or multi-state compact license.- Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association (must be attached to the submission).- Minimum of 2 years of Med/Surg experience in a hospital setting.- Candidates must adhere to submission guidelines as outlined.
