Job Summary
The Compliance Training and Education Coordinator plays a critical role in the Health Services Division (HSD)-Compliance Program by designing, implementing, and managing compliance training and education programs. This position ensures that all employees, contractors, and relevant stakeholders understand and adhere to federal, state, and organizational regulations, policies, and ethical standards. The coordinator collaborates with Compliance Officers and HSD leadership to foster a culture of accountability and continuous learning.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Design and develop comprehensive compliance training materials, including presentations, e-learning modules, and handbooks, tailored to various roles within the organization.
  2. Update training content regularly to reflect changes in laws, regulations, and internal policies.
  3. Coordinate and deliver training sessions for new hires, ongoing staff education, and leadership development.
  4. Ensure timely completion of required compliance training by all staff.
  5. Conduct periodic training needs assessments to identify knowledge gaps and compliance risks.
  6. Collaborate with department heads to determine role-specific training requirements.
  7. Track and document employee participation in compliance training programs using learning management systems (LMS).
  8. Provide regular reports to leadership on training completion rates and knowledge assessment results.
  9. Stay updated on healthcare regulations (e.g., HIPAA, OSHA, CMS, and Stark Law) and organizational policies to ensure alignment with training materials.
  10. Assist in preparing staff for audits and regulatory inspections by ensuring adequate training and documentation.
  11. Work closely with Compliance Officers, HR, IT, and other departments to develop integrated training solutions.
  12. Partner with external consultants or agencies for specialized compliance training as needed.
  13. Gather feedback from training participants to evaluate program effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.
  14. Incorporate innovative methods, such as gamification, case studies, or role-playing, to enhance engagement.
  15. Perform other duties of a similar nature or level as requested by the supervisor or director.

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and written skills; proven ability to work independently with various stakeholders.
  • Good practical experience with MS Office and Proficiency with learning management systems (LMS).

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with good strategic ability.
  • Public speaking and presentation skills.
  • Knowledge of privacy laws (GDPR, HIPAA, APPI, and others).

Education, Certifications and Experience Required
Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, compliance, or a related field and a minimum of 2 years of experience in healthcare compliance, training, or education; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.
Special Requirements:
  • Certified Healthcare Internal Audit Professional (CHIAP) or Certificate in Healthcare Compliance (CHC) preferred. CHIAP or CHC must be obtained within two (2) years of employment with PYTHSD.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid Arizona Driver's License;
  • Must have a current Level 1 Arizona Clearance Card or be able to obtain one within ninety (90) days of hire. Failure to maintain a current Level 1 Clearance Card will result in termination from this position.
