This position is responsible for processing Customer Performance deductions; to include research, customer contact, chargeback, follow-up and collection. This position will also back-up cash application and will assist with Customer Program deductions for processing; to include tracking, coding and resolution.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Processing customer performance deductions
- Back up cash application
- Processing customer program deductions
- Projects and other duties as assigned
- Research and validate customer performance deductions
- Create credit memo if valid
- Chargeback and collect from customer if not valid
- Pull information from customer website
- Gather information from other departments
- Learn the cash application process
- Understand the deductions process
- Cover the cash application duties when staff is out
- Maintain Customer Program tracking spreadsheet
- Logging each Customer Program deduction
- Recording deduction on spreadsheet for appropriate deal sheet
- Listing status of deduction
- Emailing Sales personnel to create Trade Form or clarify which deal sheet to use
- Coding each Customer Program deduction
- Knowledge of basic accounting principles and terminology.
- Knowledge of telephone and business etiquette.
- Knowledge of basic PC and telephone system operations.
- Skill on 10-key and personal computer and/or computer terminal keyboard.
- Skill in operating office machinery, such as copier, facsimile, adding machine, and telephone.
- Skill in math basics, accounting procedures and analysis.
- Ability to use good situational judgment in making decisions and problem solving.
- Ability to pay attention to details in work.
- Ability to produce accurate work.
- Ability to communicate verbally in a professional manner with visitors, co-workers, customers and executive management.
- Ability to effectively function as a team player.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- High school diploma, or general education degree (GED), business school or some college preferred
- One (1) year experience as a bookkeeper or accounting assistant.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
- Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
