Summary

The Financial Analyst reports to the Supervisor or Team Lead and is an integral part of the Finance team, providing financial analysis, planning, and forecasting support. Responsibilities include timely and accurate monthly accounting close functions, annual audits, and budgeting processes. The role involves reviewing, reconciling, and analyzing data to ensure accurate client financial reporting, identifying trends, and supporting management decisions through forecasting and analysis. The candidate must complete additional assignments as required by senior finance staff.

Duties And Responsibilities
  • Review and approve monthly accounting close procedures and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Review and approve processed monthly revenue reports.
  • Update IBNR models and perform calculations using appropriate methodologies.
  • Prepare financial performance summaries by health plan and line of business.
  • Compile end-of-month financial and board reports.
  • Conduct financial performance analysis for client meetings.
  • Respond to variance analysis inquiries for audits and regulatory reviews.
  • Support internal departments with revenue tables and financial reports.
  • Perform ad-hoc financial analyses as requested.
Minimum Job Requirements
  • Bachelors degree or equivalent experience.
  • At least 3 years of experience in physician organization, health plan, or hospital finance.
  • Strong understanding of provider and health plan contracting, risk delineation, medical terminology, and reimbursement methodologies.
Skills And Abilities
  • Proficiency in Excel (VBA, macros, pivot tables, vlookup, hlookup), PowerPoint, MS Access; knowledge of Crystal Reports, SQL, Mas200, EZ-Cap, Power BI is a plus.
  • Extensive experience with accounting close procedures and ledger reconciliation.
  • Strong analytical skills and understanding of finance concepts like capital budgeting and financial statement analysis.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, with attention to detail and confidentiality.
