A Westside startup is seeking a Senior Accounting Manager responsible for inventory, CIP, fixed assets, and capitalized labor, with a focus on technical accounting within a public company context. Requirements for the Senior Accounting Manager role:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or a related field
- 15-20+ years of accounting experience, preferably with an audit background
- Experience in a public company setting
- Proficiency in inventory and fixed assets accounting
- Experience managing and supervising teams
- CPA certification is highly preferred
Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal controls, and corporate policies
- Oversee fixed assets, inventory, revenue, leases, and financial reporting
- Manage sections of the month-end close process
- Handle internal labor capitalization, CIP, and inventory management
- Perform GL reconciliations, rollforwards, and variance analysis
- Conduct balance sheet and income statement analysis
- Prepare month-end accruals and journal entries
- Support financial reporting and technical accounting issues
- Assist with system upgrades, implementations, and process improvements
- Support the financial statement audit process
- Participate in ad hoc projects and reporting
