#CardiacSonographer #Echocardiography #EchoTech #PortlandJobs Echocardiograph Technologist Location: Portland, OR Facility Type: Hospital Schedule: Full-Time | Shift Type: Day Position Overview Virtus Healthcare Staffing is seeking a skilled Echocardiograph Technologist to join our partner's team in Portland, OR. This role is ideal for a dedicated sonographer who performs cardiac ultrasound examinations and collaborates with physicians on a variety of complex procedures. The successful candidate will objectively identify the presence or absence of disease using a thorough knowledge of anatomy and physiology. This is a pivotal role requiring the ability to modify procedures to meet special circumstances and comply with the standards set forth by the American Society of Echocardiography. Qualifications Required: •Upon hire: Oregon Sonographer license. •Upon hire: National Registered Cardiac Sonographer from Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) or National Advanced Cardiac Sonographer from CCI, or National Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer from American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS). •Upon hire: National Provider BLS from the American Heart Association. Preferred: •Associate's Degree in Applied Science from a CAAHPE-accredited school in Noninvasive Cardiovascular Technology or Diagnostic Medical Sonography. •1 year of experience performing cardiovascular ultrasound examinations, or a minimum of 800 exams using all imaging modalities available. •Pediatric echocardiography experience. •Familiarity with imaging support for advanced heart failure patients (mechanical support devices). •Experience with echo-guided trans-catheter procedures. Key Responsibilities Patient Care & Clinical Excellence •Perform cardiac ultrasound examinations according to a physician's orders, using complex ultrasound equipment. •Assist physicians with more invasive echocardiography examinations, including Transesophageal echocardiography, Trans-catheter echo guided procedures, and stress echocardiography. •Modify procedures as needed to provide clinically useful information on a cost-effective basis. Operational Oversight •Comply with standards set by the American Society of Echocardiography and departmental policies. •Share coverage for stand-by and call-back emergency studies during evenings and weekends. This may include shared regional coverage to other Portland facilities or rotation through staffed weekend shifts.
