Duties will be similar as those required of an Emergency Room Tech in a hospital Emergency Department. The PCC helps create a positive patient experience. The PCC II helps support patient complaints similar to those in an ER Room to include chest pain, abdominal pain, injuries, fractured bones, etc. Description of Essential Duties: Deliver patient care to a variety of patients (fast track, med/surg and critical care)Perform quality splinting, dressing applications, and wound carePerformance of EKG's/cardiac monitoring with recognition of basic arrhythmias Perform phlebotomy and venipunctureIV insertion after successful completion of training and competencyAssist in procedure set-up (i.e., I&D, suture, vaginal exam, Lumbar puncture, chest tube, etc.)Perform accurate triages and discharges of patients of all agesTurn over rooms per protocol (based on patient diagnosis)Communicate positively with all team members and patientsManage patient tracking systemProfessionally and reasonably delegate to team members (front staff and radiology)Work independently in a fast-paced environmentAccurately input patient discharge instructions and prescriptions into computer softwareSuccessfully participate in Proficiency Testing as directed Successfully complete drug screening collection classCompletes routine checklists (daily, monthly, etc.) as assignedUtilize organizational specific software to reference patient records and organizational protocolsFollow the information security policy & management system, contributing to its effectiveness, and actively reporting on its performance.QualificationsJob Requirements:Education:High SchoolExperience Years:1 YearExperience Type:High School Diploma with one year previous related experience (Paramedic, EMT, ER Technician) strongly preferredBLS certified requiredAbility to work during the week from 9am-7pm; weekend days from 9am-4pmParamedic or EMT experience strongly preferredSuccessfully pass a background and drug testDemonstrated ability to build relationships with patients and employees and help support a culture of passion and enthusiasmCertifications/Licenses:Travel: NegligiblePhysical Requirements: Bending at the waist: 34-66% (Frequent); Color determination: 67-100% (Constant); Firm grasping, lift/carry up to 50lbs (Frequent); Near acuity, Listening: 687-100% (Constant); Push/pull up to 50lbs.: 34-66% (Frequent); Reach above the shoulders, Sitting: 1-33% (Occasional); Reach straight out or below the shoulders, Repetitive hand/wrist work: 67-100% (Constant); Speaking, squatting/sitting, standing (moving about/stationary): 34-66% (Frequent); Twisting/turning at the waist, use of mouse and keyboard: 67-100% (Constant); Work in excess of 40 hours: 1-33% (Occasional).Mental/Motor RequirementsAbility to prioritize tasks, manage changing priorities: 67-100% (Constant); Attention to detail, attentiveness, computer skills, ability to follow written procedures: 67-100% (Constant); Basic math calculations, independent decision making: 1-33% (Occasional); Interaction with others using tact and professionalism: 67-100% (Constant); Problem solving: 34-66% (Frequent); Reading comprehension, verbal communication: 67-100% (Constant); Writing composition: 34-66% (Frequent).Environmental Requirements:Exposure to automated machinery: 67-100% (Constant); Exposure to chemicals: 34-66% (Frequent); Interaction with customers, teamwork, works in laboratory setting: 67-100% (Constant); Independent work: 34-66% (Frequent).
