Position Description - What the Role Entails:The MAR Program is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Billing/Case Management Specialist to support accurate and timely insurance billing through ongoing patient eligibility verification and coordination with our billing department. This role is essential in ensuring continuous patient insurance coverage and avoiding reimbursement gaps, ultimately strengthening service delivery and sustainability of the program. Communicate with the billing department weekly and as needed to review denials, errors, and billing rejections. Track, follow up, and document all issues related to lapses or changes in insurance coverage. Meet with MAR patients (virtually or in-person) to assist with insurance redetermination or coverage updates. Coordinate with state systems and MCOs to help resolve Medicaid or Medicare coverage problems. Provide updates and reports to the Program Director and billing department regarding eligibility status trends and issues. Advocate for patients to maintain uninterrupted access to care and help them navigate insurance-related issues. All other duties as assigned. Position Qualifications - What is required to Perform the Role:High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree or higher preferred. At least one year of experience in billing, insurance verification, or case management. Knowledge of Medicaid, Medicare, and MCO eligibility systems is required. Experience working with vulnerable or underserved populations preferred. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Salary Description $16.50-$18 an hour
